In debating which Halloween costume to go with, I found myself singing this at work the day I posted “Be Free. Climb Trees.”
“If growing up means
It would be beneath my dignity to climb a tree,
I’ll never grow up, never grow up, never grow up
I dressed up as Lakshmi the night before Halloween, but yesterday, I ran around the city in the spirit of Peter Pan and the Lost Boys. So, I satisfied the other costume in consideration.
I woke up yesterday morning deciding to go about the day saying YES to whatever came my way, and I ended up having one of the most enjoyable days in a long time. Such a lesson in going with the flow without resistance. I wandered and wondered across Manhattan. In the middle of the day my blackberry buzzed with an updated blog post from http://aknowtechnique.wordpress.com/author/aknowtechnique/, reading “even God enjoys a walk around town.” I smiled.
I documented the day of giggles and ridiculousness. It’s no award winning editing skills, but it’s a documented day of laughter. AND amidst the randomness, I ended up on a skateboard. I’m no pro, but I’m one step closer to satisfying that desire. Running around the city in the spirit of a child unwilling to grow up reminded me there’s no age limit when it comes to laughing and having fun.
